Brother Thomas Osorio, OH

Prior of Westville

Executive Director 

Growing up in The Bronx of New York, Brother Thomas Osorio, OH started on the path to the order after becoming a registered nurse in 1989. It was during this time that Brother Tom went to work for the Jeanne Jugan Residence, a nursing home ran by the Little Sisters of the Poor. It was his time with the Little Sisters that eventually led him to enter the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God in 1991 at Westville. From 1993-1997, Brother Tom served in Ireland, working at the St. John of God Hospital in Dublin, a resident day-services in Celbridge, and school/ day services in Kerry. Following his time in Ireland, Brother Tom then returned to Westville to take his First Vows. Since then, Brother Tom has served at St. John of God Community Services as a case manager, an assistant in Archbishop Damiano School, director of religious education, vocation director and director of postulance. In 2004, Brother Tom was named prior of Westville for a brief period, before going to study at Gwynedd Mercy University‎ for Administration and, later, for Human Development. Following the conclusion of his studies in 2010, Brother Tom was, again, named prior. In addition to serving as prior of Westville, Brother Tom also currently serves as executive director of St. John of God Community Services.

Brother John  Hannan

John was the youngest on seven children. Upon his father’s retirement as a Naval Officer after 30 years of service, John grew up in Kentucky and went to college at Western Kentucky University having obtained his undergraduate and master’s degrees while playing in their NCAA DI men’s soccer program. After college, he taught and coached high school before moving on to coach soccer collegiately at his alma mater then as head coach at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago . From there he began coaching youth soccer full time serving as a Director of Coaching where he remained for the next 25 years. During this time, he served as a youth national technical director and as a youth national and regional coach. He had the privilege of coaching many teams that won numerous national, regional and state championships and helping to develop many professional and collegiately players. It was during this time that in 2001, he moved his parents to Chicago to live with him thus becoming their primary caregiver. Upon their passing, John began to pursue Religious Life and began journeying with the Hospitaller Order of St John of God in 2020. He took his First Vows in 2022. He recently spent the past two years in Miami within their homeless ministry at Camillus House. John is excited to be back in Westville Grove and serving within the House of John.
